“A loaf of bread, a jug of wine, and thou.” Omar Khayyam

We live as we bake and we bake as we live: With heart, hard work and creativity. Through Persephone, we have found like-minds in the mountains, kindred spirits who care about food and design, nature and art. On our deck, we delight in overhearing conversation topics as wide and wonderfully Jackson as new albums and bear encounters. Every day, we draw inspiration from the deep well of talent in the Tetons, our team of loyal local employees, and the creativity of those who helped us realize our vision.

Four years ago, when we set off on this entrepreneurial adventure, we knew we wanted to create more than a brick-and-mortar business; we wanted to nurture a community around aesthetics, an artisanal world that would sustain us with nourishment and inspiration. We wanted to encourage people to see thoughtful goods, from the croissants we bake to the Japanese tea towels we stock, as a complement to the sublime nature that surrounds us. We hope we have achieved all that and more. As John Muir so eloquently said: “Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul.” Because of our customers and community, Persephone is such a place.
